We are finally well into the month of March, which means I have
started planting my vegetable garden with the hope of large harvests and tasty
meals built around fresh, ripe vegetables all summer long and lots of enjoyment
from pickled, jarred and frozen edibles to keep my family healthy and well fed
in the cold months of winter.
Of course,
part of the enjoyment of gardening comes from the planning; selecting the seeds, laying out the garden, and thinking about tasty recipes that will make the best
use of what is being grown.
To that end,
I start with my cookbooks in order to decide what to grow.
