I Can't Believe I Read the Whole Thing--and Liked it!
Last week I finished The Last Lion, William Spencer Churchill. Defender of the Realm by William Manchester, This was about as close to biography-perfection as they come. Paul Reid did a remarkable job picking up Manchester's research and writing after Manchester could no longer continue his work. And yes, it is 1182 pages, but well-worth the effort. What other "doorstop books" would you recommend?
