Question of the Week

What was the last book you read that made you want to drink?

Mine was a double!

The drunken botanist : the plants that create the world's great drinks  The Drunken Botanist by Amy Stewart.

I loved this romp through trees, bushes, herbs, etc.  I will never look at a forest the same.  My favorite?  Bison Grass Cocktail!

Champagne : A Global History  Champagne: A Global History by Becky Sue Epstein

I also love bubbly.  Or, more precisely, the history of it.  I am now convinced that I must learn the art of sabrage...opening up a champagne bottle with a sabre!

Loise Penny has written a series of mysteries set in a tiny Montreal village that I really enjoy. You can tell it's fiction because even though it's tucked away far from civilization, the little bistro in town manages to sell lobster, fresh croissants, artisanal cheeses, duck, you name it. So I'll sit down with a glass of wine, melt some cheese on a croissant...who knew reading could make you fat?
